A cheerful and energetic atmosphere filled the Harvey Norman Tower in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, on Saturday, June 21, 2025. STEM Academy Malaysia, in collaboration with Codero Indonesia, successfully hosted the “Free Robotics Workshop in Malaysia,” an extraordinary initiative that drew the attention of hundreds of elementary school students in the Selangor region.
This workshop serves as tangible proof of both institutions’ commitment to advancing technology and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, as well as instilling a love for the world of robotics and artificial intelligence from an early age.
Learning AI and Robotics? It’s Possible, Free, and Fun!
Held free of charge, the event was immediately packed with enthusiastic young participants. In a session titled “Open Class – Robotic AI,” the children were invited to interact directly with robotic components, try programming simple movements, and learn the basic concepts of artificial intelligence (AI) through a fun and interactive approach.
“We are thrilled to see the incredible enthusiasm from the children and their parents. This shows that interest in technology among Malaysia’s younger generation is very high,” said a representative from STEM Academy Malaysia.
“Our collaboration with Codero allows us to provide a learning experience that is not only educational but also sparks children’s imagination and creativity.”

International Collaboration with Real Impact
This initiative is a continuation of a series of strategic partnerships between Codero and STEM Academy Malaysia, which previously began with intensive training for educators. Now, through hands-on workshops with children, this collaboration has entered the implementation phase of a cross-border technology education program.
“Through activities like this, we aim to foster a spirit of creative and logical thinking from an early age.”
In this workshop, a team of educators from both institutions worked together to create a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment. The children were directly guided by experienced mentors as they developed programming logic and assembled basic robot simulations. There is no competition—only exploration and the expression of ideas.
“When children are given the space to try without fear of making mistakes, that is when true learning takes place,” added Singgih, a Codero mentor.
“This workshop isn’t just about technology; it’s also about fostering self-confidence and a spirit of collaboration.”

Toward a Bright Future
This workshop is just the beginning of a series of cross-border programs designed by Codero and STEM Academy Malaysia. With a collaborative spirit and shared vision, both organizations are optimistic that they can expand the impact of inclusive, practical, and relevant technology education throughout Southeast Asia.
Moving forward, follow-up programs such as teacher training, online classes, and educational competitions are set to be launched, opening up more opportunities for children to grow as active learners and creators of future technology.
Because the future isn’t just something to wait for—it’s something to create together. Follow the journey of the Codero & STEM Academy collaboration on @codero_official and @stemacademymy!
