Amid rapid technological advancements, digital skills are no longer a need for the future—but a necessity for today. This is what prompted Codero, in collaboration with STEM Academy, to launch the ASEAN Coding Competition 2025, a prestigious coding competition specifically for children aged 7–12 across Southeast Asia.
Unlike typical competitions, this one encourages children not just to participate, but to be creative and solve real-world problems using the easy-to-understand visual programming language known as Scratch. This platform allows them to create games, animations, and even interactive simulations simply by drag-and-drop—without having to master complex coding.
Interestingly, the competition themes are tailored to two age groups:
Astronomy for the 7–9-year-old category
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology for the 10–12-year-old category.
This theme is designed to stimulate the imagination while instilling scientific and technological literacy from an early age.
This competition is open to all ASEAN member countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and others. This means participants will compete with children from diverse cultures and backgrounds—making this experience not only educational but also broadening their global perspective. More than just a contest, the ASEAN Coding Competition 2025 is a growth platform for aspiring young innovators in Southeast Asia.
